First Circuit CASA on the lookout for next generation of volunteers

When a child enters the foster care system, it can be an overwhelming experience. There are courtrooms to navigate, lawyers to consult and even changes in foster care families and schools. The emotional ups and downs can be intense.

Jackie Horton, executive director of First Circuit CASA in Mitchell, knows this well. She has heard the story hundreds of times from children who have felt as though they were passed from one guiding adult to another.
