Legends & Learning

Learn Their Stories – Be Inspired

The Legends & Learning program is a free educational program designed to inspire future leaders of tomorrow by sharing the legacies of South Dakota Hall of Fame Inductees.

This program is available to all without charge and offers teachers, students and everyday citizens the opportunity to utilize South Dakota stories for educational, professional, and inspirational purposes.

The program was specifically created keeping the busy schedules of teachers in mind and strives to present resources in a coherent and organized manner so teachers can easily access and implement the lessons.

The program has two components:

  1. An in-depth and inspiring article for each Inductee.

  2. 4th grade South Dakota content standards-based lesson plans focused on leadership.

Currently, the teacher resources are intended for 4th grade teachers and students.
Teachers of other grades are welcome to adapt the lesson plans to their needs.
