The South Dakota Hall of Fame, a statewide public charity with its home base in Chamberlain, South Dakota, is seeking a professional to serve as its Visitor & Education Manager. This leadership role plays a central role in shaping the visitor experience and educational impact of the Hall.
The onsite leader is responsible for the daily management, care, and advancement of the Center and its onsite and online gift shops, including its physical and digital collections. The position blends visitor engagement, stewardship, exhibit development, and sound operational leadership to ensure an exceptional and inspiring Center. The Visitor & Education Manager supports the broader mission and operations, which include oversight of key administrative responsibilities, such as marketing, as the Hall’s home base. This professional supervises an on-site administrative assistant.
Requirements
Three to five years of experience in management or in a related role. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and must be able to manage virtual meeting technology. Must be able to represent the Hall professionally in person, on the telephone, and in writing. Excellent interpersonal skills are required, and must be able to collaborate well with the team. A bachelor’s degree is required; a blend of experience with higher education may be considered.
