Summary of Position:
Under the direction of the chief executive officer, the Data Manager is responsible for data management and general organizational support in the areas of finance, charitable giving, the inductee nominating process, and the programs offered by the South Dakota Hall of Fame. The Data Manager is the data administrator for the South Dakota Hall of Fame.
Essential Responsibilities:
Enters and codes approved expenses in a timely manner. Expenses are approved for payment by the chief executive officer.
Manages Accounts Payable per process.
Ensures consistency of data entry in the donor database.
Works with the chief executive office to develop a data management handbook for the donor database.
Provides reports as needed from the donor database, including gift histories.
Works with the chief executive officer in the final preparation of annual budgets.
Assists the chief executive officer in monitoring expenses to ensure annual budgets are balanced.
Provides analysis and general support for billing.
Serves as the point of contact for vendor questions.
Serves as the lead data management administrator for the SDHoF.
Responsible for timely data entry of charitable gifts, and for ensuring that data entered by others is correctly recorded in the SDHoF’s data management system.
Provides a variety of reports on charitable giving to the chief executive officer and board directors involved with fundraising.
Provides necessary training for the SDHoF’s data system for charitable giving.
Sends charitable giving receipts to donors in a timely manner, in keeping with SDHoF standards.
Organizes and provides nominating information to the Board of Directors upon chief executive officer’s review and approval.
Provides administrative support to the chief executive officer.
Provides administrative support to nominators seeking to nominate an individual for induction into the South Dakota Hall of Fame.
Is a part of the marketing management team led by the chief executive officer, including the contracted service provider for marketing.
Follows the communication protocols of the SDHoF.
Provides administrative support and data management for the Legacy of Achievement, Acts of Excellence, and Legends and& Learning Programs and the annual Honors Ceremony.
Professionally represents the chief executive officer and SD Hall of Fame.
Serves as part of the SD Hall of Fame management team.
Assists with exhibits within the Visitor and Education Center as assigned.
Provides a variety of reports to the chief executive officer.
Manages the Visitor and Education Center and Gift Shop as scheduled.
Works as part of a team at the Visitor and Education Center.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have prior experience in managing data and finance. Five years of business or nonprofit experience required with responsibilities in data management and/or finance. Must be dependable and detail-oriented and must be able to work independently. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required, and proficiency in QuickBooks and donor management databases and customer relations management preferred. A bachelor’s degree or technical degree is required.
